• Tropical Yucatan hall

With the pavilion having to look like a natural forest environment, we tried to fulfil this very arduous project in collaboration with various professional foreign companies. Out of approximately 55 companies in Europe and overseas, it was only one company that was capable of delivering plants in more or less requested range, i.e. the Danish company Tropical Zoo Plants, Lars and Marianna Kjeldstrøm-Fisker (more informations).

• Exhibit of Amazonia
A unique system of natural outlets, peerless in Europe, was opened in 2004.
Among the best known animals belong squirrel monkeys and the through-going aviary of South American macaws.

• Exhibit of Humboldt penguins
The visitors of the Zlín Zoo have been admiring a group of Humboldt penguins since 1998. The exhibit of natural design comprises two pools.
• Exhibit of South American sealions
The Zlín Zoo is proud to be among very few zoological gardens in Europe breeding South American sealions. The attractive exhibit was reconstructed in 2000. The part of a large pool is glassed-in and you may also observe seals underwater. Their twice daily feeding ritual is accompanied by their unique performance they are trained for.

• Exhibit of South American pampas
is a habitat for two species of lamas – vicuna and alpaca, maras and steppe birds – rheas, seriemas and condors.

• Exhibit of tapirs, anteaters and capybaras
The typical trinity of South American fauna shares the broad tropical space in the Yucatan hall. The exhibition has an additional aviary for South American raptors – striated caracaras.
with reptiles are situated in the Chateau’s basement.
